At the end of the year it is good to go back and reflect on the past. Here are the best books that I read in 2009 in no particular order.

These are series that I really like and that continued in 2009:
Ranger's Apprentice books by John Flanagan (This series tempted me to move to Australia so that I could get the books faster.)
Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead
House of Night series by P. C. and Kristin Cast
I have also been enjoying all of the books in the 39 Clues series published by Scholastic this year. The website for that series is a lot of fun too.
Thanks for posting. I haven't read one book by Tamora Pierce yet, even though I've had several students tell me she is a great author. I also love the Vampire Academy series, but I'm having a hard time getting through BLOOD PROMISE. I still haven't finished it. There are 3 books on your favorite of 2009 list that I haven't heard of. Thanks for giving me more books to read.
