In My Mailbox (Jan. 24, 2010)

The weekly In My Mailbox post is hosted by Kristi at The Story Siren. It is fun to see what everyone else gets in their mailboxes, shopping bags, and library visits.

Click on the link to The Story Siren's site to see the rules and join in the fun. I guarantee that your TBR pile will grow when you see all the cool books everyone gets. You will discover lots of wonderful blogs and lots of books that you won't be able to live without.

Here are the books I bought at Amazon this week:

Wish by Alexandra Bullen is the debut book by this author. It tells the story of Olivia who has lost her twin and been uprooted. It is a variation on the three wishes scenario and is realistic teen fiction.

Rapunzel's Revenge by Shannon Hale is a graphic novel that I am reading for the In the Middle Reading Challenge. I am trying to overcome my prejudice against graphic novels by choosing a something based on a fairy tale that I like.

Undead Much by Stacey Jay is the second in a series. (I bought the first too but it hasn't arrived yet.)  A story that combines ordinary High School life and zombies has to be fun.

The Iron King by Julie Kagawa is another book by a debut author. This one fits right in with the kind of books I enjoy the most. The blurb starts out "Meghan Chase has a secret destiny -- one she could never have imagined..." Faeries, deadly war, love -- what more could you ask for?

Skullduggery Pleasant by Derek Landy was chosen for one of my In the Middle Reading Challenge books because Ms. Sharp is constantly recommending it and I want to see what it is like.

The Pace by Shelena Shorts is another paranormal that sounds really good to me. "Intensely fascinating and rich with determination, The Pace brings together romance, mystery, and suspense in a compelling bond that is sure to have readers asking for more." is what the product description at Amazon says.

These were my mailbox. What good stuff did you get?
