Friday Memes: Princess for Hire by Lindsey Leavitt

Happy Friday everybody!!

Book Beginnings

Book Beginnings on Friday is a meme hosted by Becky at Page Turners. Anyone can participate; just share the opening sentence of your current read, making sure that you include the title and author so others know what you're reading. If you like, share with everyone why you do, or do not, like the sentence.

Thank you to Rose City Reader for sparking the idea for this meme. On Rose City Reader you will find 'Opening Sentences of the Day' so please have a look at this wonderful blog for further opportunities to share opening sentences.

The Friday 56

Rules:
  • Grab the book nearest you. Right now.
  • Turn to page 56.
  • Find the fifth sentence.
  • Post that sentence (plus one or two others if you like) along with these instructions on your blog or (if you do not have your own blog) in the comments section of Storytime with Tonya and Friends.
  • Post a link along with your post back to Storytime with Tonya and Friends.
  • Don’t dig for your favorite book, the coolest, the most intellectual. Use the CLOSEST.
Princess for Hire
Author: Lindsey Leavitt
Publication: Hyperion Book CH (March 16, 2010)

First Sentence: If my life were made into a movie - The Desi Bascomb Story Revealed - I'd use artistic license to make a few minor changes. Like switch the setting to somewhere besides Sproutville, home of the Idaho Potato Days Festival.

Page 56, sentence 5: Mindy contacted us through the temp section of our agency. We use it to fill in for a few select beauty queens, actors...those sort. Really, it's just a cover for us to screen subs without exposing out secret.

The beginning of this book seems really cute. I am eager to have some time to really sit down and enjoy the book.
