Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
- Grab your current read
- Open to a random page
- Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
- BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
- Share the title and author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
This teaser is from Nevermore by Kelly Creagh.
Slowly the words started to get out of the way and let images of courtiers revolve, in slow motion, through her mind’s eye. It was as thought she had somehow adapted to the density of the language. Soon the words smudged away from the page, and in their place, she was left with the sensation of gliding through the scene, like she’s become a movie camera, sweeping through the sets of rooms and over the heads of costumed actors.
I picked this one because that is what reading a good book is like for me. The words just get out of the way and the images form.
