Book Beginnings on Friday is now hosted by Katy at A Few More Pages.
Anyone can participate; just share the opening sentence of your current read, making sure that you include the title and author so others know what you're reading.
If you like, share with everyone why you do, or do not, like the sentence.
The Friday 56

My choice this week come from an eARC I recently finished and really loved. Angel Burn by L. A. Weatherly provides a whole different take an angels. These angels are bad for us. They are stealing our life energy and leaving us with angel burn. One of the effects of angel burn is that the human longs for angels and the thrill of being with them. They don't realize that the angels are killing them slowly.
The story focuses on two teens -- Willow and Alex -- who for different reasons want to stop the angels from harming humans and taking over our world.
"Is that your car?" asked the girl at the 7-Eleven checkout counter. "The shiny black one?"
Friday 56 (estimated because I read this on my Kindle 2 - the one without page numbers):
The conversation with Beth tugged at my mind, refusing to let go. She had seemed so anxious, as if getting a reading was the most urgent thing in the world.I really liked this one and recommend it highly.
