Teaser Tuesday: Blood by K. J. Wignall

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
Share the title and author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

Blood: Book One of the Mercian Trilogy by K. J. Wignall just made its way to the top of my TBR mountain. I received this eARC via NetGalley. I do like vampire books and hope this will be a good one.

Here is the description:
Will is a vampire in danger. Heir to the Earl of Mercia, he was brutally attacked and buried in the thirteenth century before he was able to assume his title. Perpetually sixteen, Will’s life has been lonely. He leaves his tomb every so often, adapts to the present day, feeds his bloodlust, and never gets close to anyone.

Waking from a twenty-year slumber, hungry for the blood that sustains his undeath, he meets Eloise—but can’t bear to make her his next victim. Drawn to a girl he can never have, but whose fate seems bound with his own, he feels the need to protect her. But Will has an enemy who will stop at nothing to find him . . . and he’s closing in. . . .
Here is my teaser:
Before finding the book, he'd wanted to walk and breathe air he hadn't breathed for more than a decade, to clear his thoughts. Now he wanted only to go back to his chamber so that he could read and decipher everything Jex had written, to understand something of what was happening and the things of which he had spoken.

  1. You are too good at pulling these!! Because of you my reading list is becoming insurmountable!!

My teaser this week is from ‘Imitation In Death’ by J. D. Robb
