Teaser Tuesday: Spellcaster by Cara Lynn Shultz

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
Share the title and author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

Spellcaster by Cara Lynn Shultz has worked its way to the top of my review stack. This story is the sequel to Spellbound and will be published on March 27. I read Spellbound last year and don't remember much about it. I hope this story stands well on its own! My copy is from NetGalley and is on my Kindle.

Here is the description:
After breaking a centuries-old romantic curse, Emma Connor is (almost) glad to get back to normal problems. Although…it's not easy dealing with the jealous cliques and gossip that rule her exclusive Upper East Side prep, even for a seventeen-year-old newbie witch. Having the most-wanted boy in school as her eternal soul mate sure helps ease the pain—especially since wealthy, rocker-hot Brendan Salinger is very good at staying irresistibly close….

But something dark and hungry is using Emma's and Brendan's deepest fears to reveal damaging secrets and destroy their trust in each other. And Emma's crash course in überspells may not be enough to keep them safe…or to stop an inhuman force bent on making their unsuspected power its own.
Teaser (from the 10% point in the eARC):
My life wasn't perfect, but I had friends. My family--what was left of it--loved me. And I was in love.

  6. I so wish I had had these books when I was a young teen. I would have been in seventh heaven!

  7. Aww, that sounds nice! Although since this appears to be a paranormal YA, I have a feeling this is the calm before the storm!
