I added these Middle Grade books this week:
Kate DiCamillo always writes excellent books and The Magician's Elephant look like another great one.
I have been waiting for the next book in the Ranger's Apprentice series by John Flanagan since I closed the book after finishing the last one. I am so eager to get started reading Erak's Ransom.
I also got a bunch of Young Adult books this week too.
I had a copy of The Demon's Lexicon and already donated it to the HS Media Center. But I donated it before I read it. I have heard so many good things about this book that I had to buy another copy to read when I had the time.
It is probably a little late for a Christmas story but Ex-mas by Kate Brian sounded so cute that I had to buy it.
The next two books are for my 2010 YA Debut Author Challenge. They both sounded so good that I had to order them right away. The Dark Divine is by Bree Despain and Magic Under Glass is by Jaclyn Dolamore.
So many people have said that Perfect Chemistry by Simone Elkeles is a great book that I had to buy a copy and see for myself.
Here are two more books that I will be reading for my 2010 YA Debut Author Challenge -- The Secret Year by Jennifer R. Hubbard and Firespell by Chloe Neill. Ms. Neill has written other adult books in the Chicagoland Vampire series that I have enjoyed but this is her first YA.
I enjoyed Need when it was published and when I saw that Carrie Jones had written a sequel -- Captivate -- I had to get it.
These next two were highly recommended on a few of the blogs I read. (I wish I could remember who exactly recommended them but, sorry, I can't.) A Spy in the House by Y. S. Lee arrived in my mail from the UK. Shadowed Summer by Saundra Mitchell also sounded so good.
I am a big fan of Sherwood Smith. When I saw that she had published two more books, they immediately went on my next order. I am looking forward to reading Once a Princess and Twice a Princess.
I have been seeing blog posts about Laurie Faria Stolarz's new book which is a sequel to Deadly Little Secrets. Somehow I missed Deadly Little Secrets when it first came out so I added it to the pile.
I was also surprised to find that Jane Yolen had written another book in her Pit Dragon series. I liked the first three very much and had to add Dragon's Heart so that the set was complete.
I have read so many good reviews for The Prophecy of the Sisters by Michelle Zink that I had to add it to my TBR pile this week.
Those were my new Middle Grade and Young Adult books this week. What was in your mailbox?
Thanks for adding Prophecy of the Sisters to your TBR pile! You have some great books there (and The Secret Year is one of my faves for 2010).

ReplyDeleteWow! That's quite a list! I haven't read many YA books but I see so many of them popping up on everybody's book blogs I think I'm going to have to try a few out.
