Book Beginning: The Iron Queen by Julie Kagawa

Book Beginnings on Friday is now hosted by Katy at A Few More Pages

Anyone can participate; just share the opening sentence of your current read, making sure that you include the title and author so others know what you're reading.

If you like, share with everyone why you do, or do not, like the sentence.

Eleven years ago, on my sixth birthday, my father disappeared.

This begins The Iron Queen by Julie Kagawa. This is the third book in this series about Meghan Chase and her interactions with the world of faerie. I enjoyed the first two books immensely and am eager to get into this one. I have the eARC from NetGalley. This book will be released on Jan. 25, 2011.

You shouldn't miss the first two books in this series if you like adventure, romance and faeries.

  3. I having been wanting to read the Iron Fey series since forever, and just joined the YA Series Challenge so that I would have even more motivation to do so. I'm wondering if that first sentence was a surprise to you, or if that information had already been revealed in the first 2 books?!
