This week I added a number of books to my TBR stack.
I bought:
Born at Midnight by C. C. Hunter in a 2011 YA Debut. It is also the start of a new paranormal series that has been getting great reviews.
Entwined by Heather Dixon is another 2011 YA Debut. The product description makes it sound like a fairy tale like fantasy. This one has also been getting glowing reviews. Booklist starred it!
I got for review:
Mercy by Rebecca Lim is an eARC from NetGalley. This is the first in a young adult paranormal series featuring angels. The author is Austrialian. The book will be published in May.
The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making by Catherynne M. Valente arrived in the mail. I was intrigued by the title of this modern day fairy tale for middle graders. Look for this one in May too.
Shimmer by Alyson Noel also arrived in the mail. I had previously read and reviewed Radiance and enjoyed it. This was also an enjoyable paranormal for middle graders. Check you bookstores for this one now.
I was recently invited to join Amazon Vine. My first choices for review arrived this week too.
Favorite by Karen McQuestion is a contemporary novel described as part thriller and part coming-of-age tale.
Nickel Plated by Aric Davis is described as gritty and edgy. It is a mystery with an anti-hero for the main character.
Strings Attached by Judy Blundell is a historical fiction book about a sixteen-year-old girl caught in a mix of love, mystery, Broadway glamour, and Mob retribution in 1950 New York.
That was it for me this week. What landed in your mailbox?
They all look great I'm most interested in Nickel Plated. Plan on keeping my eyes open for that one.
ReplyDeleteNice haul. I have Entwined and Strings Attached on my radar.
