This one almost qualifies as a dusty book. I have had it on my Kindle for a while. I bought the print copy of The Summoning by Kelley Armstrong when it came out. It was her YA debut and I have loved her adult paranormals. Somehow, this book and its sequels slipped further and further down my TBR stack. They were finally purged when the stack got overwhelming and were donated to my HS Media Center unread.
I just finished The Gathering by Kelley Armstrong and loved it. It rekindled my interest in reading the Darkest Powers series and sent me to Amazon to get it for my Kindle. Much to my surprise, I already had The Summoning and The Awakening for the Kindle. But I immediately purchased The Reckoning.
Now The Summoning is at the top of the list on my Kindle and I am eager to read it.
Beginning:
Mommy forgot to warn the new babysitter about the basement.
Friday 56 (this is a guess because I'm reading this on my Kindle 2):
"He's right there. Please. Please, please, please. Get him away from me. Get him away!
Oh, this does sound intriguing...but giving away books unread? I'd never be able to do that.
ReplyDeleteI have some on my TBRs from 2005, I think. Yes, I'm working my way through them, but the new ones keep coming in and distracting me! LOL
Here's MY FRIDAY MEMES POST
Wonder what he wants away from. I gotta read this one! Thanks for participating!
ReplyDeleteUh oh - that has a slightly sinister element to it! Would sure keep me reading though!

ReplyDeleteGreat first line. I'm adding it to my list of really good ones.
