Teaser Tuesday: Dark of the Moon by Tracy Barrett

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
Share the title and author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

Dark of the Moon by Tracy Barrett worked its way to the top of my TBR stack this week. I received the book from the Amazon Vine program. It is a retelling of the myth of the Minotaur told from two viewpoints. The first is Ariadne who is better known as She-Who-Will-Be-Goddess and Theseus. This story manages to humanize both characters and also includes a major culture clash and an ending of an era.

Teaser:
"I have never  believed that she was the daughter of Velchanos, you know." The thin, sour voice was familiar, but what it said was so strange that for a moment, I wondered if I had dreamt it.
