Five books followed me home this week and took their places on my TBR mountain.
I got a finished copy of David Weber's first young adult novel - A Beautiful Friendship. I had read the ARC but wanted a copy for my keeper shelf. I have all the rest of the books in this world. This is young adult science fiction and it includes an intrepid young woman and a fascinating alien species called tree cats.
Destined by P. C. Cast and Kristin Cast is the latest in the House of Night series. I have been following along and am eager to see what happens next. I am also giving away a copy of this book. See this post to enter.
I also bought Between the Sea and Sky by Jaclyn Dolamore. I liked her Magic Under Glass and was eager to read this fantasy as well. Here is the product description:
For as long as Esmerine can remember, she has longed to join her older sister, Dosinia, as a siren--the highest calling a mermaid can have. When Dosinia runs away to the mainland, Esmerine is sent to retrieve her. Using magic to transform her tail into legs, she makes her way unsteadily to the capital city. There she comes upon a friend she hasn't seen since childhood--a dashing young man named Alandare, who belongs to a winged race of people. As Esmerine and Alandare band together to search for Dosinia, they rekindle a friendship . . . and ignite the emotions for a love so great, it cannot be bound by sea, land, or air.I also got two books for review this week.
I chose Unleashed by Nancy Holder and Debbie Viguie for one of my Amazon Vine picks this month. This is the first in a trilogy and has werewolves - my all-time favorite paranormal creature.
I also accepted Ignite (Midnight Fire Series) by Kaitlyn Davis. This is a self-published novel. Here is the product description:
"With one last look, one final search of the lines of his face for some sign, Kira turned and ran away from the sound of the man she loved laughing in the face of her death."Those are the books I added to my stack. What did you get?
When Kira Dawson moves to South Carolina, she meets Luke, a blond goofball who quickly becomes her best friend, and Tristan, a mysterious bad boy who sends shivers down her spine. Kira knows they're keeping secrets, but when she discovers Tristan's lust for blood and her own dormant mystical powers, Kira is forced to fight for her life and make the heartbreaking decision between the familiar comfort of friendship and the fiery passion of love.
Nice books! I just finished the 5th or 6th book of the HoN series but I wasn't really into it anymore. Hope you enjoy though :)
