Book Beginning & Friday 56: Cinder and Ella by Melissa Lemon

Happy Friday everybody!!
Book Beginnings

Book Beginnings on Friday is now hosted by Katy at A Few More Pages
Anyone can participate; just share the opening sentence of your current read, making sure that you include the title and author so others know what you're reading.
If you like, share with everyone why you do, or do not, like the sentence.

The Friday 56
  • Grab the book nearest you. Right now.
  • Turn to page 56.
  • Find the fifth sentence.
  • Post that sentence (plus one or two others if you like) along with these instructions on your blog or (if you do not have your own blog) in the comments section of Freda's Voice
  • Post a link along with your post back to Freda's Voice
Don’t dig for your favorite book, the coolest, the most intellectual. Use the CLOSEST.

I  received the eARC of Cinder and Ella by Melissa Lemon from NetGalley quite a while ago. It finally made its way to the top of my TBR mountain. This is a middle grade fantasy with some similarities to Cinderella (and vast differences too.)

Here is the product description:
After her father's disappearance, Cinder leaves home for a servant job at the castle. But it isn t long before her sister Ella is brought to the castle herself. What Ella finds there starts a quest that will change her life and the entire kingdom. With a supernatural twist on this beloved fairytale, it's a must read you'll never forget.
If you drink water and breathe air, then you have heard the story of Cinderella. And, if you drink water and breathe air, you have heard it...wrong.
Friday 56:
"How long are we going to drag out this pointless quest to find this pointless girl? Time is precious to a man who has many women to spoil and much wine to drink."

  1. I also read Cinder and Ella as an ARC and reviewed it on my blog. Hope you are enjoying it as much as I did!

I love getting comments. Let me know what you think.

This blog is now officially declared an Award Free zone! I do appreciate your kindness in thinking of me and I am humbled by your generosity. Your comments are award enough for me. Comment away!
