Teaser Tuesday: The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
Share the title and author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

I know I am late to the party but I just got a chance to grab The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater off my TBR mountain. I have heard so many good things about it. I love Maggie's writing style and, in person, she is one of the funniest people I have met.

Teaser:
Thomas Gratton's mouth works like he'd like to say something to Beech about the scene, but he doesn't. Thisby is an island well populated by sons disappointing their fathers.
Maggie can certainly paint a picture using very few words, can't she?
