Happy Friday everybody!!
Book Beginnings on Friday is now hosted by Rose City Reader. The Friday 56 is hosted at Freda's Voice. Check out the links above for the rules and for the posts of the participants each week. Don’t dig for your favorite book, the coolest, the most intellectual. Use the CLOSEST.This week I am spotlighting Steelheart by Brandon Sanderson. I got two copies of this ARC. I received the first one at ALA and the second through the Amazon Vine program. Here is the description of this September 24 release:
Ten years ago, Calamity came. It was a burst in the sky that gave ordinary men and women extraordinary powers. The awed public started calling them Epics.Beginning:
But Epics are no friend of man. With incredible gifts came the desire to rule. And to rule man you must crush his wills.
Nobody fights the Epics . . . nobody but the Reckoners. A shadowy group of ordinary humans, they spend their lives studying Epics, finding their weaknesses, and then assassinating them.
And David wants in. He wants Steelheart—the Epic who is said to be invincible. The Epic who killed David's father. For years, like the Reckoners, David's been studying, and planning—and he has something they need. Not an object, but an experience.
He's seen Steelheart bleed. And he wants revenge.
I've seen Steelheart bleed.Friday 56:
"Nobody else fights," I called after them. "Nobody else even tries! You're the only ones left. If even you're scared of men like Steelheart, then how can anyone ever think any differently."
I think my husband would really enjoy this book. Thanks for sharing! I am hosting a book giveaway on my Book Beginnings post today. If you are interested, please click over and comment for a chance to win. Have a great day!
