Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Books and a Beat. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
- Open to a random page
- Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
- BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
Teaser:
"C'mon. I'll buy you a Mountain Dew," he offered, motioning to the vending machine. This week my teaser comes from With Malice by Eileen Cook. I got this eARC from Edelweiss. Here is the description from Amazon:
"How about a Mounds bar?" I countered. My mouth started to water.
For fans of We Were Liars and The Girl on the Train comes a chilling, addictive psychological thriller about a teenage girl who cannot remember the last six weeks of her life.
Eighteen-year-old Jill Charron's senior trip to Italy was supposed to be the adventure of a lifetime. And then the accident happened. Waking up in a hospital room, her leg in a cast, stitches in her face, and a big blank canvas where the last 6 weeks should be, Jill comes to discover she was involved in a fatal accident in her travels abroad. She was jetted home by her affluent father in order to receive quality care. Care that includes a lawyer. And a press team. Because maybe the accident...wasn't an accident. Wondering not just what happened but what she did, Jill tries to piece together the events of the past six weeks before she loses her thin hold on her once-perfect life.
I haven't read many Eileen Cook books yet, but I'll have to change that one day. Hope you enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteHere's my teaser.
I'd want a Mounds bar instead of a Mountain Dew too! ;-)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE psychological thrillers! This one sounds like it has so many elements of intrigue. I am definitely going to check this one out! :)
ReplyDeleteI've been meaning to buy this for quite a while now but I never see it available in our local bookstore. I think it's about time I order it online. Great teaser!
ReplyDeleteSounds like it could be really good!
ReplyDeleteThis one sounds like a good one! Then there's the Mounds bar, and I'm in! LOL.
ReplyDeleteActually, I love stories about amnesia. Thanks for sharing. Here's mine: “TWO IF BY SEA”
The town on the cover looks like it's in the Cinque Terre area of Italy - a beautiful and enchanting place that I was lucky enough to visit. I'd adore reading a book set in that locale. Sounds like a good story.
ReplyDeleteMy Tuesday post features REDNECK P.I.
Nice!! My grandpa used to love Mounds bars! My grandma liked the Almond Joys! Forever remember them when I see those candy bars!
ReplyDeleteHere's my Tuesday Post
