It's Monday! What Are You Reading? (July 18, 2016)

It's Monday, What Are You Reading? is a meme begun by Sheila at Book Journey. Kellee at Unleashing Readers and Jen at Teach Mentor Texts have given it a kidlit focus.

It’s Monday!  What Are You Reading, is where we gather to share what we have read this past week and what we plan to read this week.  It is a great way to network with other bloggers, see some wonderful blogs, and put new titles on your reading list.

Other Than Reading...

This was another quiet week. I didn't do anything or go anywhere. I concentrated on my reading by finally finishing the Pink Carnation series (reviewed eventually on my other blog). Lack of Atlanta Braves baseball to watch because of the All-Star Break gave me even more reading time.

I seem to be hearing about once a week from my realtor who has just one house to share. I liked the last one but, without a 3 car garage, it went in the discard pile. I don't think the housing market here in Duluth is going to have what I need. I may have to consider building.

Read Last Week
I read The Silence of Murder by by Dandi Daley Mackall which was an excellent mystery. I shouldn't have been surprised since it won the Edgar for best YA Mystery in 2012. I bought it then and set it on my TBR mountain. My review will be posted on August 20.

Currently
I started Illuminae by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff but had to set it aside when I was approved Friday evening for a review book that is going to be released on Tuesday. I am fascinated by the first 80 pages and am eager to get back to it.

Next Week
The next two I plan to read are both from my TBR mountain.

I got Shadows by Robin McKinley on September 27, 2013 and just set it on the mountain.

Stormdancer by Jay Kristoff was added to the mountain on January 2, 2013.

Reviews Posted
This week I reviewed:
Want to See What I Added to My Stack Last Week?
I downloaded both SYNC audiobooks this week.
I also succumbed to a Kindle deal and purchased Uncaged by John Sandford and Michele Cook.

Erased by Jennifer Rush arrived this week too. It is the second book in the Altered trilogy.

You can check Inside of a Dog (my other blog) to see what adult books I read, reviewed, and plan to read.

  2. Sigh....I can't imagine even looking at houses, let alone buying one...hurray for living in the most ridiculously expensive, mind-bogglingly overpriced city in North America....apparently if housing prices continue to rise the way they are, the average house here will cost $80 MILLION in 2040...eeeek....

  3. On the Jellicoe Road is a fabulous read! I missed downloading it. Sigh. I tried to get into Carry On, but it just didn't work for me. I'm with Jane here in Vancouver, BC, where house prices are impossible to fathom.
